WELCOME TO SITPH
SITPH - Polish Association Of
Metallurgical Engineers And Technicians
The association is a self - governing body - a scientific
and technical organization whose members (more than 4000) are engineers and professionals
active among others in the field of metals and materials manufacturing and processing.
The scope of activity comprises: Iron and steel industry, nonferrous metallurgy,
coke and refractories. Within the framework of SITPH come institutional circles,
industry - specific units, scientific research committees, commissions as well as
technical experts' team. In 1992 the association celebrated its centenary.
The activities of the association are managed by its executive board.
President for the period 2008-2011 is Prof. Janusz Szpytko (AGH University of Science
and Technology), general secretary - Zdzisław Śladowski.
The Association's goal is to develop and promote the sector as well as contribute
solutions to its successful transformation, aspecially through organization of:
- symposiums with participation of foreign firms,
- local and international scientific and technical conferences,
- promotion of commercial offers made by plants, firms companies, etc.,
- branch seminars for engineers and technicians, - all sorts of training.
Our publishing activity is also worth highlighting. Following periodicals are published:
- Hutnik, Wiadomosci Hutnicze,
- Praca, Zdrowie, Bezpieczenstwo,
- Ochrona Powietrza i Problemy Odpadow,
- is well as occasional translations and papers concerning specific branches.
